We work closely with our real estate, environment, construction and health and safety lawyers to provide a seamless, cost-effective service handling all matters throughout the development lifecycle.

Working as part of the client's development team, we establish close relationships with the professional team through involvement in the early stages of development proposals. We have dealt with many high profile developments and strive to unlock value from the client's real estate assets.

We offer a wide range of services covering all aspects of town and country planning (zoning) with our core services including:

  • strategic planning advice
  • negotiating and securing planning permissions
  • environmental impact assessments
  • appeals and inquiries
  • section 106 planning and other infrastructure agreements (highways, sewerage etc)
  • public law challenges - judicial review and proceedings in the High Court
  • highways law including stopping-up and Transport and Works Act orders
  • heritage issues (Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings and Tree Preservation Orders)
  • environmental aspects, in particular redevelopment of Brownfield sites
  • advice relating to advertisement consents
  • Town and Village Green matters, including applications and defences at inquiry
  • rights of way issues
  • listing and advice in relation to Assets of Community Value

Planning Experience

  • acting for Arcelor Mittal in the construction of the London Orbit in the Olympic Park
  • strategic planning advice and negotiation of the S106 Agreement for McAleer and Rushe's redevelopment of the Swiss Centre, Leicester Square
  • planning and environmental advice to Derwent plc/LMS PLC on 1 million sq feet mixed-use redevelopment of gas works site at Greenwich
  • representing Pinewood Studios at public inquiry for their master-planning redevelopment
  • legal agreements and master-planning for the redevelopment of the Glengall Quays Estate in Docklands
  • planning advice in relation to GDF Gulf Suez’s investment into Dart Energy’s shale oil exploration
  • planning advice to Imperial College of Science and Technology and to Voreda in their partnership for the development of the new campus and student complex in Hammersmith & Fulham
  • planning, development and highways advice to Patron Capital on their healthcare portfolio
  • pro bono advice in respect of the first listing of a public house as an Asset of Community Value (The Ivy House, Nunhead) under the Localism Act
