Banking & Securities

We advise on tax aspects of banking and securities transactions and have particular expertise on UK/US cross-border insolvency-related tax issues.

We also have broad experience in securitisation, with particular reference to the retail property sector.

We have recently advised:

  • Bridgepoint on the acquisition of senior debt owed by its portfolio company, Fat Face
  • an offshore group of investors on the acquisition of junior debt owed by their special purpose property investment vehicle
  • Värde Partners on the acquisition of portfolio of distressed credit card and mortgage receivers
  • A hedge fund on its investment in, and ongoing provision of finance to, a UK based litigation financing business
