Taxation has an impact on almost every aspect of business and commercial life. Our aim is to find tax-efficient ways to achieve clients' commercial objectives. This often involves imaginative planning based on our experience and close liaison with clients and our colleagues in other departments. We aim to add value by delivering clear, practical and timely advice.Our practice covers all taxes and each member of the team is therefore able to consider the impact of every tax (including VAT and stamp duty) to ensure that in mitigating one tax a greater liability does not arise in another.
Tax is constantly evolving. We track changes in law and practice, register shifts of HMRC attitude, try to influence change where we can through sitting on professional committees and actively engaging in consultative processes. We keep in touch with other financial advisers, lawyers and accountants.
The Tax department comprises a consistent team of over 20 lawyers, including 7 partners. Within this group, a number of our lawyers are members of our specialist Employee Incentives group and Funds group.
