Jan-Jaap is a partner in our Dispute Resolution Department. He is experienced in a broad range of commercial and financial services disputes. Much of his work is complex, high value and international.
Recent and current matters include some of the most significant cases in the London litigation market, including acting for Hewlett-Packard group companies in their US $5 billion fraud claims against former executives of Autonomy; for Sebastian Holdings in its multi-billion dollar claim against Deutsche Bank arising from a series of exotic derivatives transactions; and for Lehman Brothers entities in disputes arising out of the collapse of the bank, including acting for the joint administrators of LBIE in litigation over the ownership of securities worth more than £1 billion.
Jan-Jaap is recommended in The Legal 500 for his work in commercial litigation and banking litigation and is described by that publication as "incredibly dedicated, clever and able". He is a Member of the Litigation Committee of the City of London Law Society and sits on the firm's Brexit Working Group.
