Tom is a partner in the Commercial, IP and Technology Department at Travers Smith. He has a broad-based commercial practice with particular emphasis on strategic alliances (including joint ventures) and commercial contracts (in particular, outsourcing and other supply agreements, franchise, brewing, agency, sponsorship and distribution agreements).

McColl's on its wholesale supply and distribution arrangements with NISA and Palmer & Harvey.
Jack Wills on its warehousing and distribution agreements, in addition to a business critical website outsourcing to Tryzens.
Pinewood Studios on its joint ventures in the US, Germany, China and the Dominican Republic to develop film studios in those jurisdictions.
Shepherd Neame on its exclusive brewing and licence agreement for Asahi Super Dry Lager.
Shawbrook Bank on the outsourcing of the management and administration of a substantial loan portfolio.
Moto (the largest motorway service business in the UK) on its franchise agreement with WH Smith to operate 48 retail units under the WH Smith brand at its motorway service areas.
Tom is identified as a leading individual in the Chambers legal directory, which describes him as 'very commercially astute. He quickly understands and can appreciate the nuances of transactions and contracts'. The Legal 500 ranks Tom as one of only ten leading lawyers in the UK for his expertise in Commercial Contracts (including outsourcing) describing him as a 'tough negotiator with excellent technical ability' and 'a very experienced commercial lawyer who proactively delivers very sensible solutions to difficult and complex questions, with an acute sensitivity to client needs'.
