Elissavet qualified into the Employee Incentives Group in September 2003 and became Senior Counsel in January 2013. Elissavet has considerable experience in advising on the employee incentive aspects of corporate transactions such as management buy-outs, IPOs, takeovers and schemes of arrangements. Elissavet also advises on the design, implementation and day to day operation of all types of tax approved and unapproved share plans. Elissavet is a specialist in employment tax queries both in the context of share incentives and remuneration arrangements more generally.
Elissavet is a member of the Share Plan Lawyers Group and
regularly speaks at conferences. In 2013, most notably Elissavet gave presentations at the Tolley's conference on 'Tax Planning and Corporate Restructures' and at the 'Pensions and Benefits Show' in London's Excel Centre.
Elissavet's recent work includes the following:
- providing advice to UK listed companies on the
new rules relating to Directors' Remuneration;
- providing advice to companies currently
considering listing on the London Stock Exchange on the adoption of employee
incentives plans in connection with an IPO;
- providing advice to US listed companies on the
grant of options and share awards to employees in the UK;
- providing advice on the proposed sale of a
private equity-backed company and the impact on its global management incentive
- establishing HM Revenue & Customs approved plans
and advising companies on the new rules relating to 'self-certification' in
