Ben is a senior associate in our Pensions team. He advises on all aspects of pensions law and acts for both trustees and sponsoring employers of UK occupational pension schemes.
Ben works on a range of complex pension schemes, including with the trustees or sponsors of funds associated with AXA, the Bank of England, Clarks Shoes and Reach plc (formerly Trinity Mirror). Before becoming a lawyer, Ben was a management consultant for more than six years.
Ben has experience of providing support to clients on a range of pensions law matters, including in relation to: the legal aspects of employer covenant, funding and security issues (including in the context of corporate activity/restructuring and/or complex scheme valuation exercises), liability management exercises, the potential exercise by The Pensions Regulator of its 'anti-avoidance' powers, changes to benefit structures, scheme mergers, pensions related claims and disputes, pensions taxation and scheme governance issues, and trustee duties/powers.
Ben is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
