Chris Lee


Chris joined our Property Disputes team as an associate in September 2021.

Chris advises on a wide range of contentious commercial property matters, with a focus on landlord-and-tenant disputes, rights of light issues, nuisance and trespass. His specialisms include lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 lease renewals, break notices, dilapidations, forfeiture, possession and debt claims. Chris is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution – in particular mediation and expert determination.

Chris has also previously acted for clients in a number of high-profile property cases in the County Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, including the following:

  • Regency Villas Title Ltd v Diamond Resorts (Europe) Ltd & Others [2018] EKSC 57 – new classes of easement
  • Monsolar IQ Ltd v Woden Park Ltd [2020] EWHC 1407 (Ch)  – interpretation of rent review provision
  • Ansco Arena Ltd and others v Law and others [2019] EWHC 835 (QB) – injunction to restrain trespass from urban explorers

Chris is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the London Solicitors Litigation Association. Chris is also an advisory member of the Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce at the Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF), with a focus on best practice and benchmarking tools for organisations in the property industry. Separately, Chris is involved in a number of mentoring schemes for law students and aspiring solicitors.
