Hannah is an associate in our Commercial, IP and Technology Department.
Her practice focuses on data protection, technology contracts (including system implementation, licensing and SaaS arrangements), and the exploitation and protection of intellectual property rights.
Hannah has acted for a wide range of clients including Pret a Manger, TES Global, Ambassador Theatre Group, Micro Focus and Channel 4.
Data protection/Cyber security
Hannah advises a wide variety of clients (including high street retailers and pension funds) on data protection matters. In particular, Hannah was heavily involved in various clients' preparations for the implementation of the GDPR over the summer of 2018. In addition, Hannah has advised on a number of cyber security breaches and more contentious data protection matters, particularly involving complaints being raised about clients with the Information Commissioner's Office. Hannah also advises on a number of more complex ad hoc data protection issues, including how to respond to subject access requests, as well as the types of practices companies should be adopting when marketing to customers. In addition, Hannah has conducted a number of internal and external training sessions relating to data protection.
Having completed the Post Graduate Diploma in IP Law and Practice at the University of Oxford in June 2018, Hannah has particular knowledge of how to deal with contentious intellectual property issues as well as more general matters relating to intellectual property. Hannah has also advised on a wide range of contentious intellectual property matters, particularly relating to trademarks and copyright. In addition, Hannah has advised on the intellectual property aspects on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions, in particular relating to brand licensing and the reorganisation of intellectual property. In addition, Hannah has conducted a number of training sessions relating to intellectual property.
Hannah has advised a variety of clients on third party IT arrangements. This has included assisting with the negotiation of the agreement applicable to a high-value, business-critical business support system as well as a number of other lower value IT outsourcing arrangements.
Hannah trained at Travers Smith and qualified in September 2016.
