Hannah is a third seat trainee solicitor in the Commercial, IP & Technology Department.
I am originally from a small seaside town in the north east of England. I love to travel, a highlight being the nine months I took off before starting work to travel South America, Australia and New Zealand. When out of the office I try to spend as much time as possible outdoors and catching up with friends. I also participate in the activities on offer at the firm; I play netball, sing in the choir and do yoga every Friday in the office. This has certainly kept me busy and been a great way to settle into the firm!
I accepted my training contract offer after taking part in the summer vacation scheme. I was drawn in by the high-quality work and training, as well the welcoming atmosphere. My first impression has been proven true; the non-hierarchical, collegiate working environment makes Travers Smith a great place to be!
My first seat was in the M&A and ECM team, where I experienced various elements of M&A transactions, as well as assisting on various early stage investment transactions and an IPO. I then moved to finance, specialising in acquisition finance, leveraged finance and fund finance transactions. Both experiences were hugely rewarding, and I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of responsibility I have enjoyed at such an early stage in my career. I am now sitting in the Commercial, IP & Technology department and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
