Mike is a senior associate in our Commercial, IP and Technology Department, having trained at Travers Smith and qualified in 2013.
Mike's primary area of expertise is the structuring and negotiation of high-value, business-critical commercial agreements, both on a standalone basis and in the context of corporate acquisitions and carve-outs. His experience includes the negotiation of long-term outsourcing contracts for a core participant in the UK energy market and a telecoms giant, as well as a transformative supply arrangement for a major retailer, licensing arrangements in the publishing, transport and tech sectors and transitional service provision across professional services, media and utilities.
Energy and infrastructure
Mike has developed particular expertise in the field of energy, utilities and related infrastructure. Clients in this space include consumer-facing energy brands in the UK and continental Europe, owners of smart metering and related assets and operators of offshore and onshore generation, transportation and storage assets. He also has significant experience in renewable energy, having advised clients on the development, operation and sale/purchase of solar, onshore wind, biomass and battery storage facilities.
Mike sits on the firm's Infrastructure Sector Group and is a member of the Data Protection Action Group. He also chairs the firm's Sustainability Working Group.
