Rosie is an associate in our Commercial, IP and Technology Department, where she specialises in intellectual property, data protection and technology contracts.
She advises clients on IT implementation projects, outsourcings and software licensing issues, as well as assisting with IP disputes and branding. She also has experience advising clients on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance and privacy, and regularly advises clients in the retail and technology sectors.
Technology, IP and data protection
In the technology sector, Rosie advises clients on IT implementation projects, outsourcings and software licensing, in particular assisting clients with protecting intellectual property rights. She has advised clients launching data analytics services and applications in light of GDPR and privacy law developments.
In terms of IP advice, Rosie regularly assists clients with licensing arrangements and disputes in respect of IP ownership, in particular in relation to trademarks and copyright. She also has experience assisting clients with domain name disputes.
Rosie has advised a number of clients on their data protection compliance projects, particularly those in the retail and technology sectors.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Art Committee Member
A recent member of the firm's CSR Art Committee, which established and runs a yearly CSR Art Programme for upcoming artists from The University of Westminster and The Royal College of Art. The CSR Art Programme is now in its fifth year. In addition to having been a recent member, Rosie has advised a number of participating artists on protecting their intellectual property rights in commercial contracts with galleries and agents and in respect of future exhibitions.
Rosie is also the IT representative for the Commercial, IP and Technology team and regularly plays in the Travers Smith netball team.
Rosie trained at Travers Smith and qualified into the department in March 2016. She completed the Oxford Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice in 2018.
