Ryan is a fourth seat trainee solicitor in the Dispute Resolution Department.
When I'm not catching up with friends, I enjoy pursuing my interests in history, travelling and sport as much as possible. Travel highlights include hiking Angels Landing in the US and visiting Mehrangarh Fort in India. I was fortunate/unfortunate enough to grow up as an Arsenal fan, and have, on occasion, used my spare time to go to places as far-flung as Bulgaria to support them. I was also president of the Poker Society at my university where I met some of my closest friends, who I have since visited Vegas and Macau with.
Whilst on the vacation scheme, the high-quality work that Travers Smith advises on, as well as the friendliness of the people here, became evident. Since joining the firm my first impressions have been proved correct. The room sharing system promotes a collegiate, non-hierarchical working environment which enables trainees to build an incredibly supportive network.
During my training contract I have been involved in a broad variety of work. Two highlights which stand out however are implementing the security arrangements of a major UK pension scheme, and being involved in the sale of a private equity backed company based in Denmark on a strict timetable.
