Siân Whitby is a second seat trainee solicitor in the Funds Department.
Growing up in Yorkshire, I’ll take any opportunity to escape to the countryside and climb a hill. However, when returning to the North is just too far to go for a weekend, I enjoy spending time with friends - putting the world to rights while cooking, culture-ing and searching London for the nearest green space. I also love to travel, and have spent time fundraising for, and working with, small-scale community education projects in South Africa, Madagascar and Nepal.
Attending one of Travers Smith’s graduate recruitment events really sold the firm to me. Everyone I spoke to shared memories and stories about their time at university, and it was so refreshing to find a law firm genuinely interested in who you are as a person. It is important to me to feel I am surrounded by engaging and outgoing people. Everyone I have been in contact with at Travers Smith has fulfilled this, and more – we already have a solid friend group as trainees, which further enforces my view of the firm as an approachable, friendly and active firm.
