Gareth is a Partner in our Real Estate Group with a focus on investments into assets for development or other 'value-add' projects, particularly via joint venture arrangements.

Gareth has particular experience working for funds across a number of sectors, including healthcare, logistics, student accommodation, hotels and leisure office and retail. He has a depth of experience in advising capital partners embarking on a joint venture with an asset specialist to acquire single or multiple assets into a platform. His advice starts with advising on the creation of the joint venture, to acquisition of assets (via an asset or corporate structure) and through to any development and financing of the subsequent portfolio. Gareth has a strong reputation for managing transactions across teams.
 
Gareth also has significant experience in advising clients on forward fundings as well as lettings, from occupational lettings to landlord portfolios.

Advising Patron Capital on forward funding of over £200m of care home assets to Rynda Healthcare and Octopus Real Estate.

Secondment as head of transactions/legal counsel at real estate fund PineBridge Benson Elliot

Acting for Impact Healthcare REIT from inception to acquisition of c.100 care homes

Acting for AJ Capital on the acquisition of a number of hotels in the UK, including the Randolph Oxford and the Rusacks Hotel overlooking the 18th green at St Andrews

Acting for Hamberley Properties and Hamberley Developments on the acquisition of a number of care homes and care home developments

Advising The Hut Group on a number of acquisitions centring around manufacturing and production businesses

Advising MARK (via their Crossbay II fund) on the acquisition of the UK assets into its logistics platform, and subsequent portfolio financing.

Patron Capital on the acquisition of 2 business parks and subsequent redevelopment

Advising Breedon on the acquisition of the majority of Cemex's quarries and aggregate sites (£160m)

Advising Quayle Munro (now part of Houlihan Lokey) on their new HQ on Shaftesbury

Advising Stikeman Elliott LLP on their new UK HQ at Cornhill

Acting for Patron Capital on the acquisition of a retail outlet village, including the set up of a joint venture with an asset manager and financing the acquisition.
