Travers Smith advises Zegona Communications plc on its "premium listing" to facilitate its inclusion in the FTSE250

Overview

Travers Smith has advised long-standing client Zegona Communications plc on its transfer of listing category to what used to be called a premium listing*, with effect from 25 November 2026. The Transfer will mean that Zegona will be eligible for inclusion in the UK FTSE Index Series in March, with the expectation that Zegona will join the FTSE 250 Index. This is the next positive step of a remarkable journey which two years ago saw Zegona acquire 100% of Vodafone Spain for €5.0 billion on 31 May 2024. Since that acquisition, Zegona's share price has skyrocketed from £2.25 per share to close to £18.0 per share today.

Founded by former Virgin Media executives Eamonn O'Hare and the late Robert Samuelson, Zegona was established in 2015 with the objective of investing in businesses in the European Telecommunications, Media and Technology sector and improving their performance to deliver attractive shareholder returns.

The Travers Smith team on this transaction was led by Aaron Stocks, with support from Brent Sanders, Alex Wood and Gabrielle Long.
