Overview

Travers Smith LLP has provided strategic regulatory advice to long-standing client EQT AB (EQT), a differentiated global investment organisation, in relation to its acquisition of Coller Capital, a leading global secondaries firm with nearly USD 50 billion in total assets under management.

The combination advances EQT’s ambition to build the most attractive private markets firm of scale, delivering industry-leading performance and solutions globally.  The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

The Travers Smith team was led by Alternative Asset Management Partners Phil Bartram and Danny Riding, with support from Senior Associate George Wilders, Associates Shreeya Ranchhod and Louise Richmond and trainee Lotte Prytz.

Danny Riding commented: "We are delighted to have supported EQT with its acquisition of Coller Capital.  This transaction is yet another demonstration of Travers Smith's market-leading strength in advising sophisticated global institutions on their investments into alternative asset managers."
