Danny is a partner in the Financial Services & Markets Department.

He has been advising financial market participants on the legal, practical and regulatory requirements affecting their businesses since 2014. He has particular experience of working with UK, EU and non-EU alternative asset managers. Danny has a broad practice which includes advisory work and the regulatory aspects of transactions, reorganisations and fundraises.

In 2021 Danny was the outright winner of the Lexology Client Choice Award for Private Funds (UK) and is currently recommended in Lexology Index (formerly Who's Who Legal)  for Private Funds: Regulatory, having been recognised every year since 2023.

Danny has participated in Invest Europe and Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) forums.

Work highlights

Providing strategic regulatory advice to EQT in relation to its USD 3.2 billion acquisition of Coller Capital, a leading global secondaries firm with nearly USD 50 billion in total assets under management.

Advising on financial services M&A, including on global change of control applications and advising Mitsubishi Estate on its acquisition of a majority interest in Patron Capital.

Advising major alternative investment managers on legal and regulatory change projects, including in relation to sustainable finance, regulatory capital rules, Brexit and the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).

Designing and implementing complex business reorganisations in the financial services sector.

Advising on the UK and EU regulatory aspects of large, cross-border fundraises, particularly structuring and fund distribution.

Advising on UK licensing issues, including complex change of control applications, anti-financial crime matters and sensitive employee conduct issues.

Establishing and structuring regulated businesses, including new FCA authorisations.
