Working with charities

Through our CSR Programme, we aim to create meaningful, lasting and substantive partnerships with all the charities we work with.

Our work in supporting charities sits under two headings:

Charity partnerships

The firm provides substantial financial support to a major charity partner on a rolling two-year basis. Our major charity partner for 2018 – 2020 is Re-engage.

Re-engage is a charity that is positive about older age and committed to fighting loneliness so that people can have social lives and friendship groups however old they are. There are 500,000 older people in the UK who often go for 5 or 6 days a week without seeing or speaking to anyone. Many of them are incredibly socially isolated and experience constant loneliness.

Re-engage runs over 900 social groups in local communities across the UK, bringing together those aged over 75 who live alone with volunteers of all ages. Often the only point of social contact for an older person, our staff and volunteers can be a critical lifeline between isolated older people and wider services at times of need. After joining our groups, older people who may have felt very alone, now feel valued as individuals, continue to form friendships, and have groups that give support. Re-engage makes sure that people know they are important well into old age.

As well as fundraising, the firm will also be providing pro bono legal support on a number of matters.
