Jonathan is knowledge counsel for our Commercial, IP and Technology Department and the Competition Department. His responsibilities include making sure our lawyers and clients are kept up to date with the latest developments in these areas and helping our lawyers to provide the best possible service to clients.
Jonathan qualified in 1996 and joined Travers Smith in 2000. He assists lawyers across the firm with queries and in-depth research on matters ranging from contract law and consumer protection, through to competition law, state aid and public procurement. A key part of his role involves creating and organising know-how to enable our lawyers to provide a first class service to clients without wasting time by "reinventing the wheel". It also includes producing briefings for clients and providing training (both internally and for clients).
Since 2016, Jonathan has been closely involved in the firm's work on Brexit. He is a member of our Brexit Working Group and a regular contributor to the firm's "Brexit Latest" blog.
