Travers Smith LLP has Mears Group plc (LSE: MER) on the disposal of its England and Wales domiciliary care business to Cera Care Operations Holdings Limited.
The Travers Smith team was led by Corporate Partner Richard Spedding, with firm-wide input including Madeleine Gowlett (Tax Partner), Adam Wyman (Employment partner), Andrew-Gofton-Salmond (Corporate Senior Counsel) and Sonny Mallet (Commercial Senior Associate).
In the year ended 31 December 2019, the activities subject to the disposal generated revenues of c.£36 million. The disposal will result in around 1,500 employees leaving the Group across 18 branches. The proceeds from the disposal will be used to reduce the Group's indebtedness.
