Travers Smith advises Fairfax Financial Holdings on acquisition of MW Eat

Overview

Travers Smith LLP has advised Fairfax Financial Holdings ("Fairfax") on its acquisition of MW Eat and its subsidiaries, Masala Zone and The India Collection.

MW Eat is one of the world's leading restaurant groups for Indian food and includes three fine dining restaurants, Amaya, Chutney Mary and Veeraswamy, as well as Masala Zone, the highly regarded chain of informal dining restaurants.

 

Fairfax is a Canadian financial holding company based in Toronto, Canada and it is the parent company of Recipe Unlimited Corporation, Canada's largest full-services restaurant company with over 1,100 restaurants across Canada and the globe.

 

Fairfax and Recipe Unlimited will work closely with MW Eat's founders, Ranjit Mathrani, Namita Panjabi and Camellia Panjabi to ensure a seamless handover of the business and plans to make significant investments in the group to introduce its unrivalled dining experience to an international audience.
