Catrin is a knowledge counsel in our Pensions Department, helping our lawyers and clients to keep up to speed with the ever-changing landscape of pensions law and regulation.
Catrin has nearly 20 years’ specialist experience in pensions and joined Travers Smith from a Magic Circle firm in November 2025. She originally qualified as an employment lawyer in 2000 before moving across to specialise in pensions. Until late 2021, she was a Director in the pensions team of a leading regional firm where she was the lead adviser to trustees of pension schemes with assets ranging from £30m to over £1bn and developed particular expertise in relation to managing employer debts in multi-employer schemes, derisking transactions and complex benefit correction exercises. Despite moving into a knowledge role, she enjoys business development and actively maintains and grows her network. This allows her to remain connected to the issues and concerns of clients and the wider pensions community, thereby allowing her to deliver high quality, relevant and practical legal updates, insights and training.
She is a Full Member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and presents at its annual 2-day Introductory Course on Pensions Law for those new to pensions law.
