Richard is a partner in the Technology & Commercial Transactions Department, specialising in high value and complex commercial contracts, collaborations and outsourcings.

Richard has developed a fast-growing practice in the energy and infrastructure, sport, digital media and financial services sectors, focusing on transactions which are underpinned by long-term contracts, to exploit new markets, technologies or delivery platforms. Richard is also very experienced in successfully structuring the carve-out elements of complex M&A transactions. 

In the energy and infrastructure sector, Richard is regularly called upon to help clients devise, structure and implement cutting edge net-zero transitions and investments, across heating and cooling, renewable energy, fibre, last mile networks, smart meters, data centres and energy data platforms. 

In the sports sector, Richard has a range of high-profile clients trusting his advice on their strategic deals. His clients include household names such as Porsche, talkSPORT, Avenue Capital, The Queen's Club, Royal Automobile Club and The Racing Post.

Richard leads the firm’s General Counsel and In-house Lawyers Programme and also serves as a member of the firm's ESG and Impact Group.
