Travers Smith has advised Enviromena on an £825m senior portfolio financing package, marking one of the largest solar financings in the UK this year and enabling a major expansion of its renewable energy platform.
The facility is backed by a leading syndicate of lenders, including BBVA, Intesa Sanpaolo, Lloyds, NatWest, and Société Générale. An initial £525m has been committed, providing immediate capital to support the rapid delivery of a 1GW solar pipeline across the UK.
The Travers Smith financing team was led by Energy & Infrastructure Finance Partner Ryan Ayrton, supported by Senior Associate Esme Crofton-Ford, Associates Brandon Geraghty and Connor Smith, and Trainee Solicitor Pietro Lombardi. Due diligence and structuring advice was led by Partner Jonathan Walters, supported by Jemima Morgan. Specialist advice was provided by Derivatives and Structured Products Partner Jonathan Gilmour, supported by Tom Purkiss and Jamie Errington.
This milestone represents a significant step forward for Enviromena, strengthening its ability to deliver projects at pace and at scale, as demand for clean, domestically generated energy continues to grow.
Ryan Ayrton commented: "This transaction demonstrates strong momentum in Enviromena's growth strategy and contributes directly to the UK government’s net zero goals. We are delighted to have supported the teams at longstanding clients Enviromena and Arjun Infrastructure on this landmark transaction."
Arjun Infrastructure backed Enviromena is a UK based independent power producer focused on the development, construction, ownership and operation of large scale solar and battery storage assets across the UK and Europe. With a pipeline exceeding 3GW and more than 120 solar farms constructed to date, Enviromena manages its assets across their full operational lifecycle.
The transaction follows Travers Smith's recent transactions involving Arjun Infrastructure including advising on the increase of its stake in Bigadan and advising a lender consortium on the refinancing of Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm.
