Travers Smith LLP is thrilled to announce that it won two awards at the 2021 Legal Business Awards, which was held in-person at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
The firm won the CSR Programme of the Year Award, which recognises the work that its Pro Bono team, led by Director of Pro Bono, Sam Cottman, has done over the past few years representing domestic abuse clients, including running a domestic abuse clinic in East London since 2016 and launching its own Domestic Violence Advocacy Unit in 2020, which takes instructions from the National Centre for Domestic Violence. The award also recognises the work that the firm has done to promote positive masculinity domestically and internationally. This has included running internal sessions focused on male role modelling, gender stereotypes and positive/toxic masculinity; how men can be better allies and create safe spaces for women; and reflection for women to consider challenges in keeping and feeling safe.
Travers Smith's second win of the night went to David Patient, who won the Management Partner of the Year Award for his work throughout his tenure as Managing Partner to ensure the firm invested in high-quality people, technology and systems and most recently for his leadership throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
