Intellectual Property

A key driver of business success is the use of intellectual property (IP) rights to protect cutting edge ideas and brands.

Intellectual Property

Overview

We understand it is not just about acquiring and exploiting IP rights. We will also help you to protect them.

To advise business owners on long-term strategies for success and profitability, you need to understand their businesses. Our IP team takes time to do just that, and with their skill and precision we can help you in the creation and protection of dynamic business assets.

The team’s strength lies in the breadth of our offering. We advise on all types of IP contracts, such as IP licences and assignments, R&D and collaboration agreements and co-existence/settlement arrangements.

We also help clients to establish the chain of title to their IP portfolios, to protect those portfolios and to enforce their rights within them.

We provide support across a broad range of sectors on the complex IP issues which face businesses, including as part of technology, media and pharmaceutical transactions.

For issues with an international element, we have a network of high calibre overseas law firms to call upon. Their global insights are an invaluable addition.
