Brexit insight: In conversation with the Australian High Commissioner

Overview

Negotiating new trade agreements with the EU and other leading economies, including the US, Australia, China, India and South Korea, amongst others, will be one of the key priorities for the Government in the transitional period and post-Brexit.

As part of Travers Smith's Brexit Programme, our Senior Partner Chris Hale recently spoke with Australian High Commissioner Alexander Downer about the UK's trade policy post-Brexit, including where our priorities should lie, the prospect of reaching early agreements with Australia and other countries and potential constraints on the UK's position when negotiating free trade agreements.
