Overview

Travers Smith LLP has worked with German law firm Gleiss Lutz in advising NeXtWind, a renewable energy provider, on the English law aspects of its €1.4 billion syndicated financing.

This financing is the largest of its kind for an independent renewable energy provider in Germany. The funds will be used by NeXtWind to modernize its portfolio of wind farms, with the aim to increase their total generation capacity to 3GW by 2028.

Finance Partner Ryan Ayrton commented: "We are pleased to have advised alongside Gleiss Lutz on this successful financing, which represents an important milestone for NeXtWind and demonstrates the confidence of the market in renewable energy and energy transition in Germany."

The Travers Smith team was led by Finance Partner Ryan Ayrton, with support from Senior Associate Shehan Canagasingham and Trainee Solicitor Jamie Coupland.
