Travers Smith announces Senior Counsel promotions

Overview

Travers Smith LLP is delighted to announce the promotion of four lawyers to Senior Counsel, effective from 1 July.

The new Senior Counsel and their principal areas are: 

Max Conway – Private Equity & Financial Sponsors
Max is a corporate lawyer who specialises in advising on transactions involving private equity sponsors and institutional investors. He has extensive experience advising both investors and management teams on complex cross-border M&A transactions, including management buyouts, minority investments, carve-outs, reorganisations and exits. He also advises private equity backed portfolio companies on a wide range of corporate matters throughout the private equity investment lifecycle. 

Harry Millerchip – Financial Services & Markets
Harry advises on a wide range of financial services and markets issues, including wholesale and retail payments, securities trading, clearing and settlement, banking, tokenisation, digital assets and AI. He supports a wide range of clients, including FMIs, PSPs, digital assets businesses, and other financial institutions and technology companies on a range of mandates – especially the design and implementation of new products, platforms and systems (including those that use DLT and digital assets), and on complex legal and regulatory change projects.

Rachael Potts – Funds
Rachael advises asset managers in respect of closed and open-ended funds across a diverse range of asset classes, including private equity, infrastructure, credit and alternatives. Her practice is focussed on the structuring, establishment, and ongoing distribution of products that enhance liquidity and promote investor diversity within the wealth market, including Part II UCIs, ELTIFs and listed investment companies.

Rosie Westley – Technology & Commercial Transactions
Rosie specialises in intellectual property, data protection and technology. She has extensive experience advising on complex IP transactions and IT implementation projects. She regularly advises clients on IP licensing and disputes, all aspects of technology contracts and privacy-related compliance. Rosie's practice also covers AI law developments and its interplay with IP rights.
