Travers Smith to lead two roundtable discussions at Retail Week's 2016 General Counsel Summit

The event, which takes place on 14 October 2016, is delivered through a series of in-depth panel and roundtable discussions by over 30 speakers, providing unrivalled insight from some of the leading retail specialists today.  

Travers Smith's retail team is hosting two roundtable discussions on issues pertinent to the retail industry in the current market. Travers Smith’s corporate partner and head of the firm’s retail sector group Adrian West will lead the discussion on “Managing Risk During M&A”, while commercial IP and technology partner and head of the firm's technology sector group Dan Reavill will debate legal and practical implications on “How to Collect, Use and Manage Customer Data”.

Travers Smith has a strong track record in providing strategic advice to clients in the retail sector. The cross-departmental team is a market leader for retail M&A. The team also specialises in joint ventures and key supply, outsourcing, franchising and IT- related contracts for retail businesses. It has led a number of complex restructuring of retailers and has advised on multiple IPOs in the sector.

This is the second time Travers Smith has participated in the Retail Week General Counsel Summit proceedings. Last year, the team’s experts shared their views on cyber security and bribery and modern slavery with the conference audience.
