Travers Smith announces increase to future trainee intake

Overview

Travers Smith LLP is delighted to announce that it will be increasing its trainee intake to a maximum of 40 trainees per year. Numbers will increase in line with the September 2023 and March 2024 trainee intakes.

Over the last few years Travers Smith has grown exponentially both in terms of headcount and revenue and in order to support the continued growth and success of the firm the Partnership has taken the decision to increase trainee numbers.  This follows the record rounds of both partner and Senior Counsel promotions at Travers Smith in 2022.

Travers Smith's Graduate Recruitment team has also won several recent awards for its vacation scheme and training contract. This includes Legal Cheek's Law Firm of the Year 2022 and Best Vacation Scheme and Most Sustainable Recruitment Campaign at the AllAboutLaw Awards 2022.

Over the course of the two-year training contract, trainees spend at least six months in one of the corporate teams and six months in one of the contentious seats (dispute resolution or employment). The other two seats are usually spent in departments in which the trainees have indicated an interest. Departments will range from finance to funds, commercial to competition and real estate to regulatory. There is also one seat for a trainee in the Paris office.
