The position of the modern worker was the hot topic of a debate on BBC Radio 4’s Money Box Live on 15 June, where Travers Smith employment partner, Siân Keall joined a panel discussion to discuss the modern British workplace.
During the show, the panel discussed issues facing a growing number of employers such as the casualisation of the workplace and the implications it brings for both employers and employees; the statutory rights of people on zero hours contracts and the importance of a flexible workforce.
Siân was joined on the panel by Seamus Nevin, Head of Employment and Skills Policy, Institute of Directors; Julia Kermode, CEO, Freelancer & Contractor Services Association; and Hannah Reed, Trades Union Congress.
