Isabel is a second seat trainee solicitor in the Disputes Resolution Department.
I am a big fan of all sports, especially tennis, squash and skiing. When I’m not exploring the best brunch spots in London or socialising with friends, usually over a good gin and tonic, I enjoy playing the piano and violin, countryside walks and hosting themed dinner parties. I am also always keen for new experiences, whether living and working as a chalet host in the French Alps for several months, spending time volunteering in a remote Fijian community or immersing myself in the culture (and sunshine) of other countries.
When applying for firms, I was drawn to Travers Smith due to its inclusive culture, early exposure to high quality work, prestigious client base and unique room-sharing system. Upon joining, I immediately felt at home. The combination of a truly supportive environment, bespoke training and challenging work at the firm allows for effective and rapid professional and personal development.
During my first seat, in Pensions, I helped advise prominent schemes/employers on wide-ranging issues. My work varied, involving challenging legal research, preparing client advice and drafting deeds. Highlights include visiting a client’s office unaccompanied to execute documents and preparing a DD report for a deal spanning jurisdictions from Vietnam to the US.
