Travers Smith LLP is delighted to announce the promotion of six lawyers to Senior Counsel, effective from 1 July 2026.
The new Senior Counsel and their principal areas are:
Alex advises pension scheme trustees and scheme sponsors on all aspects of pensions law. Alex has particular experience advising trustees of large occupational pension schemes on complex benefit correction exercises, scheme mergers and pensions tax issues. Alex also regularly advises the trustees of DC master trusts on issues relating to private markets investment, improving member retirement outcomes and scheme governance.
Aimee specialises in advising alternative private capital managers on a wide range of complex tax issues. Her expertise spans fund formation, liquidity solutions (including GP stake transactions and GP and LP-led secondary transactions) and day to day tax matters affecting their business.
Aimee also has particular experience advising corporates, fund managers and other clients on a broad spectrum of real estate transactions from property investment and development transactions to VAT and Stamp Duty Land Tax matters.
Fabian McNeilly – Corporate M&A and ECM
Fabian has deep experience in the TMT, Consumer and Infrastructure sectors and regularly advises UK and international public and private companies, institutional investors and financial intermediaries. He delivers pragmatic, commercially-focused advice, with expertise spanning public and private M&A, equity fundraisings, IPOs, general corporate and commercial matters and a particular strength in complex carve-out transactions. Fabian also supports founders through the firm's pro bono partnership with Foundervine.
Claire advises public and private companies, partnerships, trustees and senior executives on employee and management incentives, global mobility issues, executive remuneration, employment tax and employee benefit trusts. She is experienced in complex, cross-border transactions, as well as high-value advisory and contentious matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Sarah Robinson – Technology & Commercial Transactions
Sarah specialises in the fields of technology, data protection, and intellectual property. She has extensive experience advising on large-scale IT outsourcings, software implementation projects, and complex AI matters. Her practice also involves supporting clients in the asset management, retail and technology sectors with data protection compliance - including cross-border transfers of data, direct marketing and cyber-attacks – as well as advising on all aspects of intellectual property law, including transactions involving the cross-border commercialisation of IP.
Chris is an experienced real estate lawyer advising on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from acquisition to disposal, development, debt financing, real estate M&A, complex landlord and tenant matters and asset management. He works in various sectors but his particular focus is on the full life cycle of assets within life sciences and healthcare, offices, build-to-rent and purpose-built student accommodation.
